A Home Like This

Homes throughout the natural world may be found in any manner of place, be made of any number of materials, and be permanent or temporary. As this poetic, illustrated board book makes the circuit from "big or little, below or above," the feature that seems to link all kinds of homes--including those of humans--is that they are places "where we love." Young readers and observers will enjoy naming the various animals and making comparisons among the types of dwellings as a positive sense of belonging is reinforced.

Minnesota author Laura Purdie Salas has written more than 130 books, including Lion of the Sky, Clover Kitty Goes to Kittygarten, and Snowman-Cold=Puddle. Laura loves nature, donuts, and playing with words. She also loves to get kids excited about reading and writing. This is her second book with Creative Editions.

Miriam Nerlove is an illustrator whose detailed paintings of animals can also be found in 2019's I Am Polar Bear as well as in the board books Dot, Stripe, Squiggle and Spot, Spike, Spiral, all published by Creative Editions. She lives near Chicago.
