Balzac's La Comdie humaine contains almost one hundred titles. Nearly all were dedicated to some specific person. Here you will come to know why each was chosen and see the role they played in his life. Some were family members, some were lovers, and some he never even met. From some he was seeking some sort of assistance. As for others, he was undoubtedly repaying some favor they had granted him. The list ranges from the very famous in the fields of literature and the arts, to just ordinary people. Unfortunately, Balzac's life ended too early, thus abruptly stopping the creation of other works that he envisioned writing.
