Move over Paul Revere! In 1777, on a stormy night during the Revolutionary War, the British army is burning the town of Danbury, Connecticut. American soldiers in the area are home on leave. They must be rounded up to fight back. Colonel Ludington is home with his wife and children, including his sixteen-year-old daughter Sybil. He needs to stay behind to organize the attack. Sybil volunteers to ride out and tell the soldiers to gather at the Ludington farm. Alone, cold, and tired, she rides throughout the night. Her efforts bring together enough soldiers to surprise and defeat the British.
