Ignaz Maybaum

Ignaz Maybaum (1897-1976) was one of the foremost liberal Jewish theologians of the post-Holocaust era. His works are now out of print and are only accessible to a small readership. Nicholas de Lange (a close colleague of Maybaum), has selected widely from his writings on modern Judaism, InterfaithStudies, the Holocaust, and Zion. His Introduction examines Maybaum's thoughts against the background of their time, and assesses how much of them is still of value today.
