Information Quality Regulation : Foundations, Perspectives, and Applications

Information has become a building block of todays information society. The production, dissemination and availability of accurate, timely, relevant, clear, concise and consistent information have become key in order to make sustainable decisions and the right choices in an increasingly complex world. However, information does not necessarily have an intrinsic positive value; neither is it always an end in itself. To the contrary, information can have a negative value or may cause unwanted, even harmful effects. This volume addresses the promise and concerns associated with information quality from an information law perspective.
