Innovations in Child and Youth Programming: A Special Issue from the National AfterSchool Association New Directions for Youth Development, Supplement 2011

This issue of New Directions for Youth Development represents an important new step in the evolution of the journal. Since 2000, we have provided innovative research, practice, and theory on a wide range of significant topics, including after-school programming, violence prevention, the needs of middle and high school students, resiliency and mentoring, and many more areas of interest. In addition, the journal has brought together those who are committed to the growth, education, and well-being of young people. New Directions for Youth Development has become a peer-reviewed outlet where most of the leaders in the field have served on the board, edited issues, or contributed articles.
