Interfaith Just Peacemaking Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Perspectives on the New Paradigm of Peace and War

Interfaith Just Peacemakingis a collected work by 27 Jewish, Muslim and Christian scholars and religious leaders on the ten "practice norms" of the peacemaking paradigm called "Just Peace." Just Peace theory, like the paradigm it most resembles, Just War theory, is a list of specific practices that are applied to concrete contexts. In Interfaith Just Peacemaking, a wholly new work, each "practice norm" is a separate chapter with a general introduction and then commentary by one Christian, Jewish, and Muslim contributor and a short conclusion. It is intended both as a general introduction to Jewish, Christian and Muslim views on just peacemaking, and as a textbook for interfaith and peace studies courses.

Susan Brooks Thistlethwaite is the author and editor of the United Church of Christ: A Just Peace Church (1986) and a contributor to all editions of the Just Peacemaking volumes edited by Glen Stassen. With Stassen, she is the editor of the monograph, Abrahamic Alternatives to War: Jewish, Christian and Muslim Perspectives on Just Peacemaking, published by the United States Institute of Peace (2007). She is also the author of Dreaming of Eden: American Religion and Politics in a Wired World (Palgrave, 2010).
