Alcinous Burton Jamison, M.D. (1851-? ) was the American author of The Anus and Rectum: Their Physiology, Anatomy and Pathology (1897), Intestinal Ills (1901), Intestinal Irrigation (1903), Man: Whence and Whither? (1922), The Making of a Super-Race (1926) and Spiritmans Place and Function in Nature (1933). Intestinal Ills includes the discussion and treatment of chronic constipation, indigestion, autogenetic poisons, diarrhea, piles, auto-infection, auto-intoxication, anemia, emaciation and others due to proctitis and colitis. It was written for intelligent laymen by a specialist, during a busy, assiduous practice.
