James Gordaneer: A Life in Painting

In a career that has spanned almost sixty years James Gordaneer (b. 1933) has engaged with the major painting movements from Modernist Abstraction and Surrealism to Neo Expressionism, to his most recent works which incorporate and reflect on his entire career in a distillation of skill, critical knowledge and an embrace of contemporary painting influences. In his work, Gordaneer seeks to bridge Canadian landscape tradition and the brushwork of abstract expressionism. A major retrospective publication on one of Canada's most prolific painters.
