Japan and Malaysian Economic Development: In the Shadow of the Rising Sun

Since the seventies Japanese investment and presence in South East Asia has been steadily increasing. In Malaysia this presence has been heightened by the "Look East" policy adopted in the early eighties. Japan and Malaysian Developmentcritically assesses various dimensions of Japan-Malaysia economic relations. It discusses the impact and consequences of the controversial "Look East" policy.
