"JaqueJaw" is a compelling story, set in the fictive town of Berryton, NJ. The story explores the ethics of scientific advancement, particularly through the character of David L. Bardd. Bardd's work represents the classic scientific ethical dilemma of "Just because we can, should we?" While Bardd has the technical ability to create hybrid creatures through genetic engineering, his complete disregard for the consequences shows the dangers of scientific advancement without moral constraints.
