This light hearted account tells the rich story of a life firstly in the mill town of Nelson in the closing years of the cotton trade. After qualifying, Alec enjoyed Practice in what was then the feudal life of East Yorkshire followed by a period as Assistant City Prosecutor of Manchester. Later in Buckinghamshire he recalls the fascinating people with whom he came into contact and finally his case book summarises the case he dealt with as a Judge both in England and Germany. Alec, describes his attendance at Royal Events and an amusing incident in the life of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. He also remembers working long hours during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
