William A. Pelz Born in a working class district on the south side of Chicago, William A. Pelz is an academic historian. A specialist in European and comparative labor history, Pelz is the author of the Against Capitalism: the European Left on the March. He is currently a professor at Elgin Community College and director of the Institute of Working Class History (Chicago).
