Kink and Particle

Offering multiple perspectives from a young woman on the brink of her 30th birthday, this collection looks back to childhood experiences, to the more indulgent pleasures of the 20s, and then onwards towards a mysterious but much-anticipated future. With a seemingly casual, almost throwaway vernacular that has nevertheless been formulated with great care, the experience is one of reading an intimate letter from a friend, offering an immediate and diary-like quality of authenticity.

Tiffany Atkinson is a lecturer in English at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, cohost of a weekly poems-and-pints event, a poet who has been published widely in magazines, and the winner of the 2001 Cardiff International Poetry Competition.
