The Kite Fighters

Young-sup can launch a kite successfully every time. He doesn't understand why his brother, Kee-sup, can't get a kite into the air unless he runs downhill, dragging it behind him, or why Kee-sup is uncertain about how to handle it in flight. Young-sup knows instinctively what the kite wants him to do. But it's Kee-sup who can fashion paper and wood into a kite fit for a king. The New Year kite competition offers the boys a chance to combine their talents. It also reveals a widening gap between them. Kee-sup, the elder, is heir to all the privileges and responsibilities of the House of Lee. No matter what Young-sup wants or where his talents lie, his duty is to help his brother. As the New Year festival approaches, Young-sup and Kee-sup prepare to challenge last year's champion kite fighter--and the centuries-old tradition tha requires a younger brother to stay in second place.
