A new school year is starting at Deepdean, and everything points to it being... hellish. The new head teacher, Elizabeth Hurst, and her five prefects have imposed a reign of terror in the school corridors and are determined to make life miserable for the little ones, even during Bonfire Night. After the fireworks, they find Elizabeth lying on the grass. The older students think it's an accident, but for Hazel and Daisy, something doesn't add up. Can the Detective Club solve this new case now that their friendship seems to be on the rocks? 

Robin Stevens nació en California, pero creció en un colegio privado de Oxford, frente a la casa donde vivió Alicia en el País de las Maravillas. Cursó novela negra en la universidad y trabajó como editora adjunta de libros infantiles antes de dedicarse plenamente a la escritura.

Robin Stevens was born in California, but she grew up in a private school in Oxford, opposite the house where Alice in Wonderland lived. She studied crime novels in college and worked as an assistant editor of children's books before devoting herself fully to writing.
