Ana Silvia Villa was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador in 1965. When she was 11, she had her first contact with poetry through the works of Alfredo Espino, a Salvadoran poet. In 1983, while there was a violent civil war in her country, she studied to become an Executive Assistant. In 1984 she moved to California to study Fashion Design. After getting married and having three girls, she was able to finish her degree in 2005. After achieving her dream of becoming a fashion designer, she now achieves another dream: becoming a published poet.
