Caroline Haythornthwaite is Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has published widely on online work, learning and social interaction, and is co-editor of The Internet in Everyday Life. Michelle M. Kazmer is Assistant Professor in the School of Information Studies at Florida State University. Her work on online learners and disengagement from online social worlds has appeared in American Behavioral Scientist, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, First Monday, and The Electronic Library.
