Eleanor Nevins is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Nevada, USA. A specialist in linguistic and cultural anthropology, she researches the interplay of language, education, religion colonialism and indigenous cultures. An accomplished scholar of native North American languages such as Western Apache and Navajo, Professor Nevins teaches courses in cultural anthropology, ethnography, and Native American language, religion, politics, and literature. Her work has appeared in a number of edited volumes as well as in journals such as Language in Society, Language & Communication, Heritage Management, and Journal of Linguistic Anthropology.
