Life Before The Taser or getting cooperation the old fashioned way, is the true story of a young mans career as a Vancouver Police Officer from when he first decided to become a policeman in 1975 as a naïve recruit, through years of experiences until his retirement in 2001. The book describes the excitement, challenges and disappointments an officer faces in a police career not to mention the blunders and misdeeds that one might be remembered for. The book will cover the job postings that the author worked in where he relates many of the situations, both serious and funny, as well as incidents that were not handled appropriately by the author. There will be moments of fear, shock, violence and sometimes just plain stupidity. The reader will learn that once you decide to become a policeman you can say goodbye to some of your current friends because not everyone likes a cop.
