Today, despite the significant emotional events that purposed to destroy me, I am still standing. Not just standing, but I am armed with faith and confidence, and I know that it does not matter what I have experienced in life; with perseverance, lots of prayer, and courage I can overcome anything. Evelyn D. Gaskin has had her share of trials and tribulations. She suffered sexual abuse as a child, resulting in a skewed view of what love meant and hindering her ability to have healthy relationships. She was hurt by words as a child, words that told her she was ugly and unwanted. She went through two divorces and found herself a single parent.
