Living the Decision

When Phillip Bennett was 10 years old, he was diagnosed with a degenerative neuromuscular disorder called Friedreich's Ataxia (FA). Unexpectedly, his life was thrust onto an entirely different and considerably shorter path than the one he thought and hoped he'd travel. In Living the Decision, Phillip shares how, with help of family and friends, he coped and sometimes thrived while enduring the degenerating effects of FA. Writing with his signature dry wit, Phillip recounts his journey; a journey jammed with love and laughter, joy and pain, struggle and grace. While reading the pages of Phillip's life, we learn lessons on how to make more out of our own.Living the Decision fulfills Phillip's final ambition. He lost his battle with Friedreich's Ataxia, but the war against it continues. FA continues to claim the lives of too many of Phillip's closest friends. He wrote Living the Decision with the intention that 100% of its proceeds be donated to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (www.curefa.org). These proceeds will be used to fund the Phillip Bennett Translational Research Award, so his goal can continue into the future - a future without Friedreich's Ataxia.
