Getting married does not have to be a crap shoot. I talk to old man that told me a story about him and his wife and this is what he said to me when I was 18 my wife and I look back at our courtship, our engagement and what was supposed to be our honeymoon years. We had so many differences and so many strikes against us. And since getting married, we've had so problems!We are truly a walking billboard for dedication, sacrifice and commitment.And you know what?The experiences we've had and the work we've done to get where we are today, has made our marriage rock-solid.Life is funny. We all experience problems in life. No one gets through life unscathed. It's not until years later that we can look back and realize, I now know why I had to go through that to get to where I am today. Believe me. There's silver lining in every adversity. You just have to find it and exploit it.But when it comes to our marriage, I think my wife would agree: If someone would have sat us down and provided us with this information while we were still dating, it would have saved us a lot of grief. So what do you need to know before getting married?Get Married for the Right Reasons. Do you have a "goal" of getting married by a certain time? Have you ever said, "By the time I (choose your milestone), I want to be married."? This may be an acceptable dream when your 10 but it's bad news as a presumably mature young adult. There are no time tables for meeting the right person or developing the right relationship.
