Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick, a husband and wife team, have been photographing wildlife together for more than twenty years. They feel fortunate to have found a medium through which they can share their love of the outdoors and teach others to appreciate the wonders of the natural world. Through Lost in the Woods Carl and Jean hope people will learn that most often fawns found alone in the woods are not lost or abandoned. Newborn fawns spend most of the first two weeks of their lives without mom because her scent will attract predators to her babe. She instinctively knows to stay only briefly to nurse and care for her fawn. He will travel with her when he is older and stronger.
