What happens when a plain red dress is worn and loved by one little girl (or maybe two)? Magic. Follow the adventures of a little girl named Ella and a very special dress — a dress that helps transform Ella's first time dancing in The Nutcracker into a magical experience. Enchanted by the dress, Ella wears it every Christmas. Eventually, Ella outgrows the dress she loves so much. When Ella was 10 years old, she wrote the story of the Magic Red Dress with her grandmother, Karen, to share the magic and love of ballet with children everywhere—and especially with Ella's younger sister Hazel. Now 11 years old, Ella has performed in six Nutcrackers and adores ballet.

Elyse has worked in the film industry for Warner Bros and Nickelodeon Animation studios, on feature films such as Space Jam and Quest for Camelot, and on television for Dora the Explorer, Oswald the Octopus, and Hey Arnold. Her love of drawing has extended naturally to illustrating children's books. The Magic Red Dress is her seventh printed book. A native Australian, Elyse lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two boys.
