The Magic-makers' Carnival

This novel is primarily in the magical realism genre, but it is also a blend of other genres--mystery, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, social commentary, and coming-of-age. The book's rich imagery and psychological awareness make it delightful reading for the young-at-heart, as well as the young adult. It tells the story of a teen who discovers a mysterious carnival in a forest in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This adventure ends up transforming her own life and the lives of many others in the town.
