In 1975, the MHS produced Lois B. McCauley's Maryland Historical Prints: 1752-1889, a classic collection of prints at the Maryland Historical Society, now a collectors' item.With this book, author Laura Rice has far surpassed her predecessor.The new volume is nearly twice as large with more than 330 prints, each in the color in which it was created. At a generous 9 x 12-inch page trim, the glory of Maryland print-making is stunningly reproduced, and each print is accompanied by an explicatory essay.

Laura Rice is former curator of Prints at the Maryland Historical Society. She resides with her family in Plattsburg, New York.
