Something very very strange is going on...because nothing strange is going on... Overnight, the SOS Brigade, the existence of supernatural beings, and Haruhi Suzumiya's obsession with uncovering the mysteries have disappeared. Kyon seems to be the only one who remembers anything about the infamous SOS Brigade and its members--the former time traveler Mikuru Asahina (now a normal student), the former alien Nagato (now a timid, stammering bookworm), or the energetic Haruhi Suzumiya (now nowhere to be found?). Just where is Haruhi? Not to mention member number three, esper Koizumi? And why is Kyon, who so often longer for a normal life, so upset to find all of it suddenly gone?

Nagaru Tanigawa is a Japanese author best known for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for which he won the grand prize at the eighth annual Sneaker Awards. Tanigawa is currently working on the tenth novel about Haruhi Suzumiya and the S.O.S. Brigade.
