Memoirs of a Girl from Suffolk

Thirty-five year old Inez is raising six children in rural Suffolk, Virginia. Her sixteen year old daughter becomes pregnant; another nearly commits murder; her son is convicted of assault; she is reunited with her sixth child; her lover dies in the street in front of her; she is stricken with a deadly illness; and, her husband plots to move back home with her. Inez must address the situations that arise in her life. Unfortunately, The consequences of Inez's actions are detrimental to her children. This leads the children to understand that her form of education cannot compete with the classroom.
