In early 2000, Mere Christianity was named by Christianity Today as the most influential Christian book of the Twentieth Century. But many people today are reluctant to read this magnificent classic. Why is this? I think many people are intimidated by C. S. Lewis' academic credentials and impressive resume--they think they might not be up to his intellectual arguments. And this is simply not true. It is a challenging read to be sure, but most people can, with a bit of effort, understand the book and be encouraged by it.
