Bergman at the University of California at Berkeley, USA, he initiated his independent career at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. His recent awards include an Emmy Noether `Junior Research Group? from the DFG, a DuPont Center for Collaborative Research & Education Grant, a Thieme journal-award, and an ORCHEM-Price from the GDCh.
