The 1950's in America is often remembered as the Golden Age. Ike was President and people were busy living out the American dream. The Moses Stern Chronicles recount the adventures of my uncle who lived in a different America. Moses lived and wroked on the fringes of society because he liked it there. The people that Moses knew were too busy just trying to make a living to put on airs. While the rest of the country was working for a better life, Moses was just trying to pay the rent on his office and a room at a boarding house. The stories in this edition show the country through the eyes of a WW II veteran and his friends. The political and societal age are incorporated into theses stories and what comes through is an America that most people are not nostalgic for. The Language used is not politically correct, but it does reflect the era as it was.
