Kevin Smith was born in Chiswick, London December 16th, 1952. The family emigrated to the U.S. October 19th, 1965.

After high school, Kevin joined the U.S. Army. In 1977, he moved back to England where he met and married his wife, Karen.

In 1983, Kevin and Karen moved back to the U.S. and established a business in Washington State. Michael James was born on August 4th, 1996.
In 1999, Kevin and Karen sold their business and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they still live. This book is the first book written by Kevin and was completed with great difficulty, shortly after their son Michael's passing.

The author Kevin and his wife Karen hope that their son's tribute My Son, My Hero will be well received by the public, so they may continue to try to help others in need. They know that this is what their son Michael would have wanted them to do.
