Nexus: Histories and Communities

Nestled within the lush Oakanagan Valley in central British Columbia, Kelowna has always attracted artists, many of whom live amongst its hills and orchards. As a result the Kelowna Art Gallery has developed a unique collection of paintings, prints and drawings by some of the greatest Canadian artists of the twentieth century. In this magnificently illustrated over-sized publication artists and art lovers celebrate this particular wealth. Six thematic essays are accompanied by dozens of personal testimonies from the community. Nexus refers to the connection between the gallery and the public that was strengthened through this process.
