The Nonpareil Nine

Shane Folsom is a Major League pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. He is the best athlete ever to play the game and in four years has broken most pitching and batting records. He is one of nine extraordinary athletes from various sports who have suddenly come to the attention of the whole world, not only because of their unusual talent, but because they all came along at roughly the same time. When one of these talented athletes dies suddenly, it is a tragedy. But when another dies and then another, each apparently by accident, Shane's suspicion is awakened and he sets forth to discover how and why his counterparts have met death. As the mystery unfolds, he discovers who he and the other athletes really are and why their lives are in danger. The clock is ticking as he rushes to uncover the nature and identity of a killer before he falls victim to an insidious and murderous plan.
