He also sets puzzles for a newspaper syndicate. Before writing full-time, Neil was a researcher for the BBC for 25 years and mainly based at the BBC Written Archives Centre. He enjoys travel, especially to colder climes, writes haiku and is a member of the Magic Circle. He lives in Berkshire with his wife and has two adult children.
