What happens when true love crosses the color lines? When it comes to true love, you'd have a hard time convincing Cyndarella Worthy that such a thing is possible. Yet,as her wedding day nears, this beautiful 30-something African-American woman believes she's finally gotten it right. She owns Peachtree Productions, a thriving advertising agency, in Southfield, Michigan, and she's found her Prince Charming in the form of Thad Mitchell, a handsome, successful African-American man. Cyn, as she's affectionately known to her friends, seems to have it all-until her world is turned upside down by the return of her first love, Bashar Bazzi, who had disappeared after being sent to his native Iraq on business, abruptly ending their four-year relationship. When Bashar resurfaces after having been held in an Iraqi prison and undergoing treatment for post-traumatic stress syndrome, Cyndarella is forced to confront her past-and her unresolved feelings for Bashar.
