Operation Last Chance One Man's Quest to Bring Nazi Criminals to Justice

Sixty years after the end of World War II, members of the Nazi party and their collaborators are still alive--and are increasingly difficult track down. And the clock is ticking. But Efraim Zuroff will not give up. In 2002, Zuroff launched a vast campaign called "Operation Last Chance" to find the biggest Nazi criminals, before it's too late. He placed advertisements around the world, in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and local publications offering a reward to anyone who had information. Six years later, in spite of the relentless passing of time, the opposition of many governments, and even death threats, Zuroff was able to list the names of 488 criminals who are alive and at large. Dr. Efraim Zuroff is a historian who specializes in Holocaust history and established and directs the Israel Office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and coordinates the Center's worldwide research on Nazi war criminals.
