Ota-Villa I

Ota-villa series is a fiction on Nigeria. It is an allegorical fable or a political satire on Nigeria. The setting of Ota-villa stretches to about a century; 50 years before the Nigeria independence and another 50 years after the Nigeria Independence. The novel re-acquaints the older Nigerians to Her glorious past and educates the younger Nigerians on Her history which they may not have known enough of it, by painting the Nigeria history in an interesting animal story of an Orwellian style 'Animal Farm'.Satire is one of the more intellectual kinds of writing and most modern satirists have lived quiet and intellectual lives. In this work, the author like so many satirists is not content to be merely amusing. He makes the reader think and pricks the consciences. He points out the way he thought they ought to go and above all the work has a strong message. This is a work you may read in just a day or even few hours, but you may spend the rest of your life thinking about it, comprehending the content over time.Ota-villa I trace the historical development of Nigeria from shortly before the amalgamation through the independence and the military era down to today's democratic government (1910 to 2010). Ota-villa II addresses the participation and place of women in the current democratization process. While Ota-villa III, makes a critique of the military era (1966 to 1999) and the irony of continuous participation of soldiers, with military instincts, in the democratization process.
