Our British heritage and the Fight for Independence and Freedom, depicts the Scotch, who came mostly from Ulster Ireland, from the Welsh and other ancestry, and from England. It is about those who felt compelled to leave their homeland, largely because of English oppression and for religious reason. Two thirds of General Washington's army and the first settlers in the United States at the onset were of Scottish ancestry. Reasons for emigration to America were based on a complex, multifactorial and pleury-facetted inter-relationship between peoples of different ethnicity, and religious convictions, beginning long before 1292 when King Edward I of England tried to gain control of Scotland.
