Out Of Oneself

Out of Oneself is a collection of two novellas by one of Hungary's leading contemporary writers. An enquiry into the nature of eroticism, an unflinching exploration of the physical and psychological aspects of love bordering on sexual mysticism, each story relates two different epochs in Hungarian history through the sexual relationships of its characters.
As with most of Palyi's writing, this is a meditation on carnal pleasure through "the language of the body." Placing sensuality at the heart of transcendence, the thirst for redemption and transubstantiation is quenched only by sex and death.
