"In sending forth this little volume we make no claim of having written fully of the rise, sufferings and achievements of Baptists. Believing that there is an imperative demand for an outline history of the Baptists that would be comprehensive enough to include all branches of the family-East and West, North and South, black and white-we have attempted to meet this demand.
