Paper Dragon, Wooden Ship

War and intelligence gathering in the Far East in the late 60¿s. Vietnam grinds on. A young naval officer confronts both, along with a failing marriage, and a new love. This is a story about LTJG and later LT Pat Dillan¿s assignment to USS BANNER (AGER-1), the ill fated USS PUEBLO¿s sister ship, and later to a minesweeping flotilla staff based in Japan. He ends up in combat on Market Time operations off the Vietnam shore and in-country conducting riverine operations. Three years later, through perseverance and luck, he survives and returns to a USA far different than he left.
