A Person of Interest

--As unpredictable as a 'cane bounding along the Florida Straits.- The heiress to a computer software fortune is found drowned in the turquoise waters off the Key West Bight. Instead of hiring a glitzy, buttoned-down Miami detective, her billionaire father contacts Freshwater Conch-Harry Crashaw-to uncover his daughter's death. Crashaw knows by heart the bougainvillea-lined alleys and secrets lurking behind the tin-roofed, "palmy" Conch homes of Key West's Old Town. The quest takes Crashaw on a lurid, convoluted chase through the lower Keys' mangrove mazes. A hurricane, cigarette boats, and sex resorts add more salsa than anything this side of Havana.
