Perspectives on Growth and Poverty

This publication explores the complex relationship between growth and poverty, which lie at the heart of development economics, and considers the policy implications. It contains a selection of papers presented at a conference, organised by the UNU World Institute for Development Economics Research and held in May 2001, which sought to review current thinking on the topic, and promote the debate and exchange of ideas on future policy directions. These papers deals with institutional and policy questions, as well as sectoral issues and individual country experiences.
