Although it took place over three decades ago, the Vietnam War seems to be a scar that will not fade. This memoir/essay details the journey of an eager young pilot fearful that the war might end before he could take to the skies. Starting in the early sixties,this account captures the thoughts and feelings of an idealistic young pilot as he seeks adventure, glory and excitement in what he believes to be a worthy cause.
