Mary Mapes Dodge (18311905) was an American children's writer and editor, best known for her novel Hans Brinker. In 1859 she began working as a writer and editor for two magazines. Po-No-Kah is the story of three children and there adult companion who were captured by Indians. This is the story of their captivity and their familys attempt to rescue them.
