Educated at universities in Romania and the United States, Laura E. Savu earned her PhD in English at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Bucharest, Romania, where she teaches advanced language practice seminars as well as literature courses, with a special focus on narrative, rewriting, and postmodernism, but also drama and film. She has given conference papers and published articles that reflect her abiding interest in the intellectual and cultural exchanges carried out by contemporary writers with their famous literary predecessors.
