The body of a woman with her throat slashed is found outside the monastery of Los Álamos. Just hours later, the police discover her husband’s corpse at the couple’s luxurious mansion. The Ayats were elderly, with a seemingly irreproachable past, and well-respected in the community.
Charged with investigating their deaths, Inspector Irina Pons uncovers a web of evil casting its shadow over a town she had vowed never to revisit. The trail leads her to the Rocanegra orphanage, a grim place whose walls echo with painful memories.
Because however deep the truth may be buried, some secrets cry out to be remembered.
