Promoting Inclusive Practice

Rather than "integrate" students with special educational needs into a system designed without their needs in mind, the predominant effort in education has been to rethink educational systems from the bottom up to include the full range of students' individual challenges and backgrounds. The contributions to this volume, derived from the work of the organization Inclusive International, emphasize the promotion of informed choices and active participation in the community throughout individual students' lives.
